What Langit does

Langit helps users save selected words/phrases while browsing and review them later using reminders with translations in selected languages.

Data we collect

We collect only the data required to provide the extension’s functionality:

Email address (to create an account and link your vocabulary and premium status to you).
Saved vocabulary content (words/phrases you explicitly select and save).
User settings (selected languages, reminder schedule, and preferences).
Account/session identifiers (tokens) required to authenticate requests and sync data.

We do not collect browsing history, page URLs, keystrokes, mouse movement, or cross-site tracking data.

How we use data

We use the collected data to:

create and manage your account,
store and sync your vocabulary list,
generate or retrieve translations,
show reminders based on your chosen schedule,
maintain security and prevent abuse.

Translation processing

When translation is enabled, saved words/phrases may be sent to a translation service provider (e.g., OpenAI) to generate translations. We send only the text you saved and the target language(s). We do not send page URLs or browsing history.

Premium access (no in-extension payments)

Premium access may be granted to selected users (for example, early users or supporters). We do not collect payment card details inside the extension. Premium status is linked to your account email.

Data sharing

We do not sell user data. We share data only with service providers when necessary to deliver core functionality (for example, translation processing). We do not share data for advertising or unrelated purposes.

Data retention

We retain your saved vocabulary and settings until you delete them or request deletion. We may retain limited server logs for security and debugging for a short period.

Your choices and controls

You can:

delete saved words/phrases,
update your settings,
request account and data deletion by contacting us.

Security

We use reasonable security measures to protect stored data. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
